Post-Surgery Hospitalization

Our Magnolia veterinary staff are highly trained and equipped to give your pet the constant attention they may need as they come through this difficult time in their health.

Overview

Shady Brook Animal Hospital is proud to be an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited animal hospital. This means that when your pet is injured or needs surgical care, you can trust the highly trained and compassionate team of veterinary professionals at our clinic. We make an effort to take the stress out of caring for your pet’s health.

We are able to hospitalize your pets during the day to keep a close eye on their health. If your pet has had surgery or is recovering from an illness or injury, Shady Brook Animal Hospital has the staff and facilities to keep your pet comfortable while they recover.

Why might my pet need hospitalization?

  • Recovering from surgery

  • Ingesting a toxic substance

  • Sudden illness

  • Broken bone

These are just some of the reasons your pet might need more closely supervised care in our clinic. Our Magnolia veterinary staff are highly trained and equipped to give your pet the constant attention they may need as they come through this difficult time in their health.

Our post-operative recovery area is designed to keep your pet safe and comfortable as they come out from under general anesthesia. Depending on the sedative we’ve given your pet, this process can take a few hours. We are able to monitor your pet as they regain consciousness so that we can be sure that they are ready to go home safely.

If you bring your pet to Shady Brook Animal Hospital for a surgical procedure and aren’t able to pick your pet up right away because of work or school, we are happy to keep an eye on your pet until you’re able to get to the clinic. We’ll call you after your pet’s surgery is complete and let you know when it’s safe to come pick up your pet. Let us know when we call you when you expect to pick up your pet.
